Introducing the flagship line of LED power solutions from Mean Well, the HLG series. These aluminum encased AC/DC LED power supplies range in power from 40-watts up to 600W and can operate in both constant current and constant voltage mode.  All HLG products operate from 90~305Vac and are offered with voltages from 12V to 54V.  Each has multiple models with options for: non-dimming, manual output voltage and current adjustment and 3 in 1 dimming. The built-in 3 and 1 dimming allows for dimming with: 1~10V, PWM signal or resistance. These drivers are also IP65 and IP67 rated, making the HLG ideal for outdoor dry, damp and/or wet locations. Additionally, they are a type HL LED driver for use in Class I, Division 2 hazardous locations luminaires.  Power Factor Correction (PFC) is standard and less than 0.9, efficiency is up to 96% and THD is less than 20%. With a leading 7-year warranty, a full range of safety and regulatory agency approvals, the HLG product stands out as the most robust and reliable solution for LED lighting.

Model Options：

To best categorize the HLG products, first separate by rated wattage (shown in model encoding image below). There are 11 options: 40W, 60W, 80W, 100W, 120W, 150W, 185W, 240W, 320W, 480W and 600W. The next distinction is rated output voltage, which there are 2 choices: 12V,  24V. The final selection is, function options. These options are listed in the table below and described:

A-Type - Adjustable Output Current & Voltage

The A-type HLG products are IP65 rated and include on-board internal potentiometers where the output voltage and current can be adjusted. These models have the two black circles that you see on the top side of the product.  This is where the adjustment is made.  The range of adjustment is noted for each model in the tables below, but the voltage can typically be adjusted around ±10%, while the current range is typically between 50% to 100%.

B-Type - 3 in 1 Dimming

3 in 1 dimming gives specificers various methodologies to help provide optimal design flexibility. The three dimming options are: 1~10VDC, 10V PWM Signal or Resistance. The dimming source current from the power supply is 100uA(typ.)

C-Type - Terminal Block Connection

The C-type eliminates wires coming from the HLG. Instead, connections are made via terminal blocks on each side of the driver. This option is only available by request for the 240W and 320W HLG models.

D-Type - Timer Dimming

Mean Well also offers, by request only, a D-type, which allows the driver to be programmed for several different dimming levels throughout a day. Timer dimming in not available for the 600W unit.

Blank-Type - Non-Dimming

The blank type has no letter (blank) after the part number and offers no options for voltage/current adjustment or dimming. However, it is still a stock item that is IP67 rated with cables for I/O connection.

Applications

The 40W~80W HLG products are commonly used in troffers, pendants and for recessed LED lighting. The higher wattage versions ranging from 100W~120W can be used for tunnel lighting, parkarge garage lights and outdoor wall packs. The 150W and up models are used to power street lights, high bay lighting and parking area lights. And, because the HLG can handle extreme temperatures they are also frequently used in outdoor telecommunication applications and in electrical charging equipment.
